Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis will head to Tokyo in 2020 for his second crack at guiding Australia to an historic Olympic medal after falling short in Rio.
Lemanis has been re-appointed to the role for the next four years having taken Australia closer than ever to a first Olympic men's basketball medal in Rio last year.
They lost by a point to Spain in the bronze medal play-off in August.
"I am both humbled and honoured to be given the opportunity by Basketball Australia to once again be the head of the Boomers," Lemanis said.
Lemanis, who also coaches NBL side the Brisbane Bullets, will likely be given a squad for Tokyo brimming with NBA talent, including Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova, Ben Simmons, Thon Maker and Dante Exum.
Before that, the Boomers will contest the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast and aim to qualify for the FIBA World Cup in China in 2019.
Lemanis has held the national team head role since 2013 after being recruited from the all-conquering New Zealand Breakers.
